Your team
You will be part of the Monetary and Economic Statistics Division (MOE) in the Directorate General Statistics (DG-S). Our Division develops, compiles and disseminates statistics and statistical indicators. It also provides related user services regarding monetary financial institutions, other financial corporations, financial stability and financial integration within the euro area and the EU, as well as general economic statistics, including prices and costs, and surveys on non-financial sectors.
You will work in the Financial Statistics Section, which is responsible for compiling statistics and indicators on payment statistics, various types of financial stability related statistics, and indicators on financial integration and financial structures, supporting the ECB and the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) in the conduct of their tasks.
In your role as Economist-Statistician, you will work closely with users of statistics in various ECB business areas, the ESRB and beyond. You will also work closely with other teams in the Directorate General Statistics, as well as statisticians in national central banks.

Further information
The contract(s) offered will be short-term ESCB/IO, the appointment being for 18 months as of the exact starting date of the selected person, extendable to up to 36 months. Candidates must have a contract of employment with their home institution for a period of at least one year beyond the duration of the ECB contract being offered.
