System Engineer (f/m/d) HVDC/FACTS Control and Protection

Siemens Energy is seeking an experienced System Engineer to join our team of experts working on the HVDC and FACTS Control Systems. You will work collaboratively with multi-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain these critical control systems through software development and testing. You as the System Engineer will be responsible for analysing and solving complex system engineering problems, ensuring system stability and functionality, and implementing new features and capabilities as needed.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Design, implement, and maintain HVDC and FACTS control systems
• Analyze and resolve complex system engineering issues
• Ensure system functionality through rigorous testing and maintenance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to introduce new features
• Utilize advanced software for control and protection of HVDC and FACTS projects
• Leverage cloud technologies for automated simulations and define best practices in Matlab/Simulink

What You Bring

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• First professional experience with HVDC or FACTS Control Systems is highly preferred
• Proficiency in programming languages, such as Matlab and Python and System Engineering expertise with tools such as Simulink or PSCAD
• Experience with software engineering tools and methods such as Git and Scrum/Kanban
• Strong communicator and collaborator with excellent self-organization, active listening, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
• Very good English language skills, German language skills are of advantage
