- Develop and refine metrology concepts for AR/VR image quality (e.g., , contrast, uniformity, artifacts, eye-box performance).
- Improve and maintain existing image quality metrology setups and test benches.
- Design, build, and align optical setups for image quality testing of components and complete AR/VR systems.
- Implement and maintain data processing, image evaluation, and automation routines in and .
- Define and document measurement procedures, test plans, and specifications in collaboration with optics and systems engineering.
- Analyze measurement results, perform uncertainty/error analysis, and drive improvements to setups and methods.
- Document methods and results; support transfer of metrology solutions towards pilot or production environments.
- MSc with strong, relevant optical metrology experience. ideally a PhD in optics, physics, optical engineering, or related field.
- years of experience developing custom optical metrology solutions, preferably focused on image quality of AR/VR or imaging systems.
- Strong background in imaging optics and image quality metrology (e.g., , distortion, contrast, uniformity, artifacts).
- Experience with AR/VR optical systems is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with optical lab setups (alignment, integration, troubleshooting).
- Proficient in and for data analysis and automation.
- Structured, analytical way of working; strong documentation and communication skills.
