- Design and create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for optical and precision mechanical components following company and industry norms
- Design, simulate and optimize tool for injection molding
- Design jigs and fixtures for assembly, alignment, testing, measuring and calibration of optical and mechatronic systems
- Collaborate with optical designers on tolerance analysis, mounting concepts and impact of mechanical design on optical performance
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal manufacturing to ensure feasibility, correct material selection and appropriate production processes
- Evaluate design variants and propose optimizations for performance, cost and manufacturability
- Support DFM / DFA reviews and implement feedback from production and quality
- Continuously improve design guidelines, tool concepts and simulation workflows
- Excellent university degree in mechanical engineering, precision engineering, optical engineering, mechatronics or related field.
- Several years of experience in the development of optomechanical systems
- Strong track record in design methods and simulation software for injection molding tool design and their integration into robust development workflows
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with high attention to details and a structured, documentation-oriented working style
