My name is Felix Bertelsmeier, I’m the Teamleader of the Automation Innovation Center and will be your manager. You will be part of the Automation Innovation Center located in Darmstadt and be involved in every step of the way – from initial idea to final product.

About the job

As a key player in our global automation initiative, you will actively drive the development and integration of advanced vision solutions into our tightening‑centric automation systems. From concept to deployment, you’ll work cross‑functionally with engineering, marketing, and sales to deliver intelligent, high‑performance solutions that exceed customer expectations.

Your mission includes

• Develop tailored vision solutions for our screw‑centred, standardised automated production systems together with our global engineering and development teams
• Ensure seamless integration of vision technologies into our automation ecosystem
• Define and communicate the vision and strategy for vision solutions in line with our overall automation strategy
• Develop and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with company goals and customer needs
• Provide on‑site support for system installations and maintenance at customer locations worldwide
• Gather and prioritize product requirements from customers, stakeholders, and market research
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to vision systems to maintain optimal performance
• Testing and evaluation of latest technologies and trends in the field of automation and robotics
• Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation and provide training to internal teams and customers

To succeed, you will need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
• Proven proficiency in machine vision technologies and tools
• Programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB
• Experience with robotic systems and their integration with vision systems
• Knowledge of image processing algorithms and techniques
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Very good knowledge in English and German, speaking and writing
• A proactive team player who thrives in a cross‑functional, international environment
