Long-term contracts are crucial for Hapag-Lloyd's cargo mix. Beneficial Cargo Owners (BCOs) are customers who ship directly with us without an intermediary freight forwarder. The volumes of BCOs are usually negotiated through tenders. Tenders are structured price negotiations for large shipment volumes with a term of at least one year. The Global BCO Steering team in Hamburg coordinates the global handling of these customers.
