Job Description:
Die Abteilung AOCS/GNC & Flugdynamik-Analyse in Friedrichshafen ist Teil des länderübergreifenden Kompetenzzentrums von Airbus für Lage- und Bahnregelungssysteme (AOCS), Führungs-/Navigations-/Regelungssysteme (GNC), Flugdynamik (FD) und Regelungstechnik für alle Arten von Systemen. Wir entwickeln Standard- und missionsspezifische AOCS/GNC- und FD-Systeme mit dem Ziel, die Kundenbedürfnisse unter Einhaltung von Qualität, Zeit und Kosten zu erfüllen. Dazu gehören Forschung, Design, Entwicklung, Verifizierung und Validierung der End2End-AOCS/GNC & FD-Kette mit Aufgaben im Bereich der Analysen, Performancekampagnen, Hardware-in-the-Loop-Tests und der Betrieb im LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase). Unsere innovativen AOCS/GNC- und Flugdynamik-systeme entwickeln wir für Missionen in den Bereichen Wissenschaft, Erdbeobachtung, Telekommunikation und Navigation bis hin zu Next Space und Konstellationen.
Die Abteilung ist in zwei Teams unterteilt, die sich an Projektphasen und Tätigkeitsbereichen orientieren. Das Team “AOCS/GNC & FD Studies and Mission Analysis” konzentriert sich auf die frühen Projektphasen, F&E (Forschung & Entwicklung) und Missionsanalysen. Das mit dieser Stellenausschreibung angesprochene Bewerberprofil ist innerhalb des Tätigkeitsbereichs dieses Teams. Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten

• Missionsanalyse für verschiedene Satellitensysteme und Missionsszenarien in LEO/MEO/GEO inkl. Konstellationen und Formationsflug für Erdbeobachtungsmissionen Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) und optische missionen.
• Entwurf von Bahntrajektorien, Flugdynamik und Regelung von komplexen Satellitensystemen.
• Hochpräzise numerische Simulationen für Precise Orbit Determination (POD) und Precise Baseline Determination (PBD)
• Entwicklung und Implementierung moderner Schätzungstechnik für on-board Navigation
• Definition, Entwicklung, Wartung, Fehlerbehebung und Verifikation & Validation von Tools zur Bahnbestimmung, Missionsanalyse, und Missionsplanung
• Eigenständige Durchführung und Koordinierung POD-Entwicklung, Analyse und Verifikation für Satellitensysteme in Phase 0/A/B1 (u.a. Auslegung von Algorithmen, Erstellung von Simulationsmodellen)
• Unterstützung bei der Initiierung von Technologieentwicklungen und bei der Akquise zukünftiger Aufträge

Qualifikationen und Erfahrung

• Hochschulabschluss, idealer Weise Promotion, in Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik oder vergleichbare Qualifikation mit Schwerpunkt in modernen Schätzmethoden
• Sehr gute Kenntnisse und idealerweise fundierte Erfahrungen in der Anwendung moderner Methoden der Schätzungstechnik auf komplexe, praktische Problemstellungen: Darunter fundierte Erfahrung in der Sensordatenfusion.
• Sehr gute Kenntnisse in der Orbit-/Flugdynamik, inkl. deren operationeller Umsetzung, sowie der Orbitbestimmung und Regelung von Satelliten
• Gute Kenntnisse in der Simulationstechnik, Systemdynamik inkl. Mehrkörperdynamik und Signalverarbeitung.
• Sehr gute Kenntnisse in Matlab/Simulink, Fortran, C/C++, und Python.
• Fähigkeit, autonom in einem dynamischen, multidisziplinären und internationalen Umfeld zu arbeiten.
• Englisch, vorzugsweise Deutsch und Französisch: verhandlungssichere Sprachkenntnisse.

The AOCS/GNC & Flight Dynamics Analysis department in Friedrichshafen is part of the transnational centre of competence in Airbus for Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS), Guidance/Navigation/Control (GNC), Flight Dynamics (FD), and control engineering for all kinds of systems. We develop standard and mission enabling AOCS/GNC & FD systems with the aim of living up to the customer needs and delivering on quality, on time, and on cost. This includes research, design, development, verification, and validation of the end-to-end AOCS/GNC & FD chain. This includes analyses, verification and validation campaigns, performance campaigns, tests on hardware-in-the-loop benches as well as operations in LEOP (Launch and Early Orbit Phase). Our cutting-edge AOCS/GNC and Flight Dynamic systems support across-the-board missions in Science, Earth Observation, Telecommunication, and Navigation on to Next Space and Constellations.
The department consists of two teams based on project phases and field of activities. The “AOCS/GNC & FD Studies and Mission Analysis” team has its focus on early project phases, R&D (Research & Development) and mission analysis. Your tasks and responsibilities

• Mission analysis for various satellite systems and mission scenarios in LEO/MEO/GEO including constellations and formation flying for earth observation missions, especially SAR and optical missions.
• Orbital trajectory design, flight dynamics, and control for complex satellite systems
• High precision numerical simulations to support precise orbit determination and precise baseline determination
• Development and implementation of advanced estimation techniques for on-board navigation
• Definition, development, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and verification and validation of simulation tools in the domain of orbit determination, mission analysis and mission planning
• Autonomous execution and coordination for development of Precise Obit Determination methods, mission analysis, as well as analysis and verification for satellite systems in Phases 0/A/B1 (including development of algorithms and simulations models)
• Support the initiation of future technology developments and the acquisition of new business.

Your qualifications and experience

• University degree, ideally PhD, in aerospace engineering or comparable discipline with focus on precise estimation techniques
• Profound knowledge and practical experience in the field of sensor-data fusion and advanced estimation techniques.
• Very good knowledge of orbital mechanics/flight dynamics in operations as well as orbit determination and control of spacecraft
• Very good knowledge of spacecraft dynamics, signal processing, and estimation techniques (development, simulation, verification)
• Very good knowledge of simulation and software development with Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, and Python.
• Competence to autonomously work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and international environment
• Fluent in written and spoken English and German. French is an advantage.
