The »Neuroergonomics« team is offering a position for a

Neuroscientist or Neuropsychologist (m/f/d)

or a candidate with a comparable academic background and a Master-s degree.

The »Neuroergonomics« team conducts foundational research on neural mechanisms and markers of cognition, emotion, and social interaction in real-world work and everyday scenarios. Central to this research are multimodal measurement methods and data-driven analytical approaches.

• Conduct research and publish findings on the neural foundations of affective and cognitive processes in social and work-related contexts
• Design and implement multimodal studies (EEG, fNIRS, eye tracking, physiology), including hyperscanning setups
• Develop advanced methods for signal processing, artefact correction, and interpretable machine learning
• Support the acquisition of third-party funding (e.g., DFG, EU, BMBF) and play a role in formulating new research proposals
• Engage in teaching activities in both German and English and supervise student theses
• Foster collaboration and build networks with national and international partners

• An above-average academic degree in a neuroscience-related discipline, such as Neuroscience, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a comparable programme
• Demonstrable experience in the acquisition and analysis of neurophysiological data (M/EEG, fNIRS, and/or eye tracking)
• Proficient programming skills (preferably in Python) with expertise in neurophysiological signal processing and artefact correction
• Initial experience with multivariate statistics and/or machine learning
• A systematic and meticulous work approach characterised by independence, responsibility, commitment, and teamwork, paired with creativity and innovative thinking
• Effective communication skills in both German and English for collaboration with colleagues and partners

Remuneration is in accordance with the TV-L pay scale up to pay grade 13 (depending on qualifications). The post is initially limited to two years.
